In the fiscal year 2025, the Science Tokyo Library will continue to cover the expenses of the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for students who cannot use a public expense.
The budget for this service has a limit. To ensure equality of opportunity for everyone, please understand all the following before applying.

This service is exclusively for students who cannot use a public expense.
How to Apply for this Service
Portal for Sci & Eng Field, Science Tokyo＞Library Services＞Ordering Articles/Interlibrary Loan
When you have any inquiries, please enter them in the “Comments” field.
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year undergraduate students who don’t belong to a laboratory
Please select “Private” from “Expense”. - 4th-year undergraduate, master’s or doctoral students
Please ask your supervisor/professor whether or not you are allowed to use a public expense before applying.
Only in the case you cannot use the public expense, select “Private” from “Expense” and be sure to write “I confirmed that I cannot use a public expense” in the “Comments” field (Required at the first application of every fiscal year).
Note that you need to pay yourself in case you don’t enter it in the “Comments”.
Notes
- The materials you order must be necessary for your own research and/or study.
- If the material you need is held in a public library, we may not accept your request and recommend you to visit the public library.
- Depending on the budget spending, a limit on the number of interlibrary-loan books per person may be set in the fiscal year 2025.
