Non-campus members can use the Ookayama Library and Suzukakedai Library by online application in advance.
Exceptions: Those who fall under any of the followings do not need to apply in advance but are required to present IDs as below.

Using the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services, you can order books/copies of articles via your affiliation/a public library from the Ookayama Library and Suzukakedai Library without a visit.

Terms of Use
Our libraries are open to the public, but only for those:
♢ who need our library materials for academic research/study.
♢ who need our library materials that are unavailable for the ILL services via his/her affiliation or a public library.
- A visit for commercial copying or using only the facilities is not permitted.
- All visitors are required to follow the Science Tokyo Library Regulations.
- Science Tokyo members are given priority as the Libraries belong to the Institute of Science Tokyo.
Available Services
1. Using library materials
- The materials in the closed stack areas require a prior application for use. Regarding those materials, please see "Using Materials in the closed stack areas".
- Books*² can be reserved if by ordering in an application form.
*² The number of books reserved is limited to 3.
We do not reserve materials for in-library use only.
2. Access to e-resources
- The PCs for e-resources are available from 8:45 to 17:00 on weekdays only.
Please come to the circulation counter to use by 16:30. - Some e-resources have limitations of access due to contracts.
- Use of the PCs may be limited to 30 minutes in case other visitors are waiting.
- Downloaded files are prohibited to bring them out.
3. Photocopying and Printing
- Photocopiers are available for library materials under the Copyright Act until 30 minutes before closing (black and white ¥10/sheet, color ¥30/sheet). For further information, see "Photocopy".
- Printers are available for e-resoueces until 16:30 on weekdays (black and white ¥10/sheet, color ¥30/sheet).Note that some of the e-resources have restrictions on printing due to contracts.
- Some of the e-resources may need to be printed by library staff (black and white ¥40/sheet, color ¥80/sheet).
- Users need coins*³ for the photocopiers/printers. We do not change bills to small money.
*³ 10, 50, 100, 500-yen coins and 1,000-yen bills (only Series-E 1,000 yen note (A portrait of Hideyo Noguchi) and Series-F 1,000 yen note (A portrait of Kitasato Shibasaburo) ) are acceptable.
- A receipt can be issued from the coin-operated photocopies/printers. For further information, see "Library photocopying and Printing"
Library rules
- Do not leave valuable items. The Libraries are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- Photography or filming in the Libraries is prohibited without prior permission.
- Please respect other library users; keep noise to a minimum. There is no meeting space in the libraries.
Ookayama Library
Neither the 2nd and 3rd floors (including Group Study Rooms) are available.
The Ookayama Library does not provide trash cans.
